II was standing on the bluff watching the sunset with my mom, and I commented “..now that I’m unemployed, I have time to do things; like paint.” but naturally I just took a picture on my phone, went home and photoshopped it. I don’t know whether I would ever paint like that. One of the best things about digital images is that they emerge like paintings if I want them to, but there’s no negotiation of the basic physical facts. Caught in an instant, the place is as I remember it.
